This is my 2nd Black Ink painting 'Bug Junction'. For those lovers of six-legged critters. To those who hate them, I can only apologise. :)

i like the smooth background- any special way you made that?
I have been using Photoshop for 10 years creating digitally printed wallcovering.
I have an electrical engineering degree with a minor in math.

Thanks for your comment.
I didn't really use and special techniques on the background. I created 3 new layers and one I filled with the medium shade of green using the 'Calligraphic pencil default' brush with it's default size and opacity. With the same brush, I did a few quick strokes across one of the other layers in a darker shade of green and a couple of quick strokes with a lighter shade on the remaining layer.
