Graphic tablets insight

Any insight on what kind of tablet works better with this program? My father has an old wacom grapfhic tablet and I'd like to buy a new one but some are really expensive and others don't seem quite right for advanced users. Painting with mouse requires an amount of patience I don't have usually =)

Hi memo,

Black Ink works with all graphics tablets, and when somebody meets a problem it's corrected soon as possible.

For the choice of the drawing tablet it all depends of the time that your father spends on drawing, his skills and your budget
I know there is other constructors as Genius, Huion, ...but I have tried only Wacoms.

In overall feeling I prefer Intuos pro (A5 format), and for a better control when you are drawing a Cintiq (12"HD).
I have tried low budget graphic tablets too, maybe I am very demanding, but I don't like the feel of it.

I have a Genius F610 and found it works quite well with Black Ink. I'm not an experienced user, but the program responds well to pressure applied using the stylus and that covers the upper limits for what I'm using the software for

I use a cheap $98 MonoPrice large 12" tablet and it works wonders, I don't notice any difference between it, my dad's Bamboo Splash, or my Wacom Graphire 2

Thank you all for the insights! Actually, my father has an old wacom A5 wide and it is enough for him. I'd like to buy one for me because we don't live toghether and could not share the same device. I'd love to get a cintiq cause it will be better for me to work on the drawing instead of working on a tablet looking at the screen, but... I cannot afford a cintiq and I still need to try a non-screen tablet for a while to learn if I really need something like a cintiq or not. The issue is that I don't work with drawing and it will not be an investement but a "waste of money" I cannot actually afford. So I was thinking about those without an integrated monitor but I still need something responsive and cheap, no matter what brand. I know wacom are good but a simple intuos pen and touch is around 240 euros and it is still too much for something I will probably upgrade if I seriously start to be productive with black ink. This is the reason why I asked for your kind advice =)

go to monoprices website and look them up if you're concerned with price, $25-100 USD should be what.. 13-60 Euros or British Pounds right?

I have been doing some research and the Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch looks great and it seems very affordable. I wanted to know can the opacity and size of your brushes be controlled from the tablet itself? Or would you have to revert back to the mouse and keyboard for this each time you want to change the size and stuff?
