Workaround to collapse layers...

Postby clayton » 13 Sep 2013, 20:10

Hi all,

In case anyone is looking to collapse layers (until the feature becomes available):

With multiple layers, save the painting as a .png
Now, open up that .png you have just saved and you will be back to one layer again !

You do not even need to leave blackink !

This is good if you are happy with every layer and want to reduce them to a background layer.

However, sometimes I want to join just 2 or 3 of my 8 layers and that is not possible yet.

Hi clyton,

your idea is very good, and I did this before too.

PNG supports transparence and so you can export parts of your picture.
If BlackInk could Import a second .png into another layer would be great, to do all the work in this application.

But you can export two different parts, rework them and in the end merge them with some gafik tool like "gimp" for example :)

hf

btw. they will add layer featurs in the next steps:
-Collapse layers together
-Layer transformation tools / Load in image into a layer

..or begin with creating the background... save it as .png and than start the detailing in a new document with imported background ;)
