Program Crashes From Glitch Every Time

Postby fayala28 » 16 May 2021, 13:50

BlackInk crashes every single time after I try to merge layers after using the selection tool and transforming. Here are the steps are taken to reproduce the crash.

-Create anything on a layer and using the selection tool cut a portion of the image off
-Create a new layer and paste that portion there
-Move or delete any layer from the layer stack (After removing a layer the layer stack output turns purple and creates a gap within the layer stack in which the original layer was)
-Merge the remaining layers down(After merging the layers down the programs crashes 100 percent of the time)

The only thing that I noticed that doesn't crash the program is filling the gap in the layer stack by creating another layer within that stack by clicking the empty part of the stack and choosing one.

Is there any way that I can fix this issue. At this point, I can not use this program.

the program crash because the layer stack is in a buggy state ( when there are gap between layers ).
A quick workaround is to create a new layer stack and move your layer into it and delete the old one.

I tried what you explain but I can't reproduce the Buggy Layer stack state ( unfortunately )

Do you manage to reproduce this state at 100% each time?
If so, please explain or show me step by step how to do it

Here is a video. I cut off like one second so I could delete email address but other than that its raw footage of the steps.

Hello, I don't own the steam version. I bought the website version of BlackInk that is not connected to steam. How should I go about requesting that version? Do I include my steam username or something into the email or would I get a key?

Thank you. I just downloaded the program and went into the beta. However, now I get an error saying

Warning: panel 'DbgBSL' not found

Any idea what that is? Also after testing the program for that bug that I had before it worked but still crashed after a few cuts and pastes. The layer gap and purple artifact aren't present though.

Edit: Ok so the crashes aren't frequent so that's good. The program works fine now and I can get some work done. It does crash randomly still though.
