Precision issue while sketching

Postby tam » 13 Sep 2013, 17:58

Recently grabbed the Black Ink trial from Steam and gave it a spin. Some interesting features I'd love to play around with more, but there's this one thing that really bothers me. When sketching characters, I like to make quick lines and curves, but the precision to do so isn't quite there.

As a test, I drew a series of quick circles and a majority of these come out more angular and less accurate with my drawing motion. This doesn't happen while using Opencavas 1.1 and Photoshop, which produce some nice and precise curves. Here's some comparison images from my tests;

Black Ink Curves
Opencanvas Curves
Photoshop Curves

The problem persists regardless of the brush type. Settings are left at their default. Tried playing around with some brush settings afterwards with little results. Resetting the stylus calibration doesn't help either.

Using a Wacom Bamboo Tablet.

Cheers.

Kind of experienced the same thing here, but, never really thought anything to it, thought it was just me who couldn't draw circles, so I instead just take a bit more time to draw it, and being a bit more like, careful, while drawing it.

Same problem here with my Cintiq 13HD.
In my workflow often that the nib lose precision.
Most of the time (90%) I solved it by going to the Edit menu> Reset Stylus calibration (in Black Ink).
I would not make mistakes, but only the brush (crepe default) does not have the possibility of editing the size.
Great job guys :learn:
