I am jealous of your ability to do this with a mouse. I cant imagine what you are capable of when you get a tablet. Your explosion looks so good, I struggle with those kinds of dynamics. Fire, explosions etc. Bravo! And congrats on making it into the showcase!

Thanks for all the nice words.

I don't think I will greatly improve with a tablet, I bought it mainly to be able to paint faster than with the mouse. :p
I'm just starting to learn things, I didn't paint much before in my life.

For this picture, I used a lot of image-based color for the explosion.
It was mostly made with the Tail brush (for those pointy little sparks), and with the Dots brush to create the background smoke and some highlights with the "Screen" blending method.
I think everyone could recreate that - nothing too fancy. :p

Currently I'm trying to learn to chose and mix nice colors on my own, but as I said, I just started painting and still need a lot of reference and tips I guess.
:bye:

Yea I could tell it was the tail brush as I zoomed in. You really made it work well and they "sparky" look it gives really helped with creating movement. Ill have to try something like this some day for fun :)
