This is all looking so great! Honestly, this is the update I've been anticipating since I got Black Ink several years ago. It's already a wonderful program, but this layer system is just going to introduce so many of the features I enjoy and have been waiting for.
I love the entire UI design of Black Ink too. It's functional, yet beautiful. Thanks for all the hard work and I look forward to whenever the new version is ready!
That's because I had to completely rewrite the code of how Black Ink handles images/layers and the canvas visualization... It was neither easy nor quick and I haven't quite finished yet The big positive point is that Black Ink will: - be able to support an infinite number of layers - be able to support layers of infinite size - have a significant increase in performance and fluidity - have greater flexibility on the use of layers in real time
So Here is the example: In this video I apply a non-destructive Transform operator to a layer. And in real time I can see the result of this transformation. Thanks to the composition system I can blend this transformation with the normal layer in order to have the 2 results at the same time. I let you imagine what you can accomplish with it See you soon.
This is my very first test with the Transform operator in the Layer Editor. Don't expect great art but try to see further
This operator can help you create and manage your scenes and compositions in a non-destructive way. In short I know we still haven't released a new version of Black Ink but it's moving in the right direction and we're getting closer to the goal.
