Steam refund

I was just upset Steam would not give me a refund because of the early access.
And I can say it was my fault, yes, but after communicating and explaining that I did not know it was just 'sketching' software, could I please have a refund?, their response was to use their early access Eula, no refunds on early access software. That does not seem fair to me.
I know I should have checked out the software further, but I saw the effects at first and liked them. My fault for purchasing something I wasn't sure about? Yes. Giving a detail description of why I made the mistake and that I really do not need the software. Lousy solution. You ever fall for devised advertising?
I do not even have a tablet!!
