Find your program in Steam, right-click it and choose Properties. In the menu go to "Local Files" tab and press "Browse local files..." button. It will open up the directory with your Black Ink files. Make a shortcut for BlackInk.exe, place it anywhere you want (even desktop) and then put it into your taskbar. Wa-bam, you're done.

Hmm, just tried launching Black Ink directly with it's .exe and encountered the problem of Black Ink instantly showing a C++ Runtime Error message and then closing itself with Windows error message. Not sure if that's only mine problem, so try it out for yourself. Normally other software and games launch this way as they do normally.

Nope, I've been getting that error throughout several patches and installations. Since you're getting it as well I'm putting my money on it being a bug. Actually, the message was slightly different in the last patch, back then it mentioned something about the Steam .dll, I think. Now it's just a generic runtime error.

abalone : try to open the steam client. In your library right clic on Black Ink and then select the option "Create a destop shortcut".
After that you can drag this shortcut in your taskbar.

Hope this help

I think you're confusing me with OP, agzor.

Also, in my case that wouldn't work. I can't launch Black Ink with the executable, a shortcut doesn't change that. I consistently get an error unless I launch it directly through Steam.

For clarification here's a screenshot and the contents of the log file. The minidump doesn't get affected by the crash, so I didn't bother with that. This is with Steam running and the Steam overlay disabled.

--- Harmony LogFile ---

<HARMONY> Application = BlackInk Steam ( WinMain.cpp Ln 27 )
<HARMONY> Version = 0.151.1634 ( WinMain.cpp Ln 29 )
<HARMONY> SteamAPI_Init() failed ( WinMain.cpp Ln 75 )

FATAL ERROR : <HARMONY> Steam must be running to play this game (SteamAPI_Init() failed) ( WinMain.cpp Ln 76 )
