hi tom,
Can you try to Enable the function in the Main Menu > Edit > Disable precise stylus position
After that is the problem still there ?

Makes no difference. I open BlackInk, start do draw with the default brush and when I reach a certain high pressure, the stroke stops and the mouse-pointer disappears. It returns when I start a new stroke (blindly).
This happens in almost every stroke I draw in the current version 0.161.1686 (D3D10).

So BlackInk is still unusable here :-(

Cheers,

Tom

tom : this bug is really hard to hunt because you're the only person we know which has encountered this behavior
Anyway can you have access to another Tablet ( from a friend ) to test it on because it can be a kind of specific hardware / software issue..
Can you can also send us your log file from Black Ink.

Thanks

Hey,

just sent the files as requested.
I have an Intuos 4 as well and just tried it out, same thing.
I may be able to try with my old Intuos 1 too, but that's not driver compatible so it's a bit more involved.

As I said before, I have absolutely no problem with any other software (Photoshop, Lightroom, ArtRage, SketchBook etc.)
So I personally highly doubt it's something to do with my tablet.

----

Ok, while writing this I had an idea and I think I found the problem:

In the Wacom driver, Options Panel, at the bottom there is a point called "Pressure Compatibility" which by default is on and I never bothered to change it since 1024 pressure levels sound like plenty anyway.
Somehow I thought to try that out and bingo, now it seems to work (with that option disabled).
It's even repeatable when I toggle that option...
Funny that I should be the only one with that problem since it's the default?

I'll keep you posted if the problem should return.

Cheers,

Tom

Good to know you find a workaround.
We have checked this option on our hardware but Black Ink seems to react correctly in both case ( option enabled or disabled ) :? .
Anyway we will shield the pressure computation in Black Ink to make sure we didn't retrieve invalid value for the next release.

That sounds like a good idea ;-)
