flashing\flickering

Hi,

After the update that lets you scale up the UI, I have encountered a new problem. When I bring up the preferences window or a brush preview window it constantly flashes. When I attach I to the main tab/window it does not flash. So it only flashes when it is a floating window.

I updated my graphic card drivers, and the problem persists. Does anybody have a suggestion to fix the problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

M.E.

What is your config ( Hardware CPU, GPU, RAM and OS )
Do you have a surface book ?
If yes the workaround is to force black ink to run using the imtegrated graphics and while slow, it doesnt experience the flickering effect.
If no try to enable the VSync ( Main Menu > Winodw> Preferences > GPU )

Wacom MobileStudioPro 16
Windows 10 Pro
16 GB ram
Intel i7-6567U CPU 3.30 GHZ
NVIDIA Quadra M1000M

Thanks for getting back to me. Didn't seem to work, but I will manage with docking the windows for now.

A user has the same problem and says :

i have this very same issue. It is caused by the dGPU.
I have forced black ink to run using the imtegrated graphics and while slow, it doesnt experience the flickering effect.
All ypu need to reproduce is any surfacebook model with a dGPU, the architecture on all the cards from all models is the same.

Same problem, same tablet (MobileStudio). Running with slower integrated Intel Iris 550 doesn't cause popup windows (such as preferences) to flicker, but performance is not so great.

Also, the cursor ring doesn't indicate the size of the brush. Usually larger than the actual brush size. Probably because the tablet is 4K at 19" scaled natively at 250% via Windows.

Switching from Iris back to Quadro cards often causes a crash in BlackInk. I have to switch back to Iris in the Nvidia graphics program settings to stop BlackInk from crashing.

Running the latest Nvidia Quadro driver for the M1000M.

:??: we don't have such config at the office so it's difficult to test..

the better is to use Black Ink UI scaling feature..

The right thing to do in this case is to send us the crash report ;)

I believe one was sent by the program after the cash. Hopefully that will work.

Apparently a different issue. While adjusting Wacom pin pressure in their app and running BlackInk, BlackInk froze and I had to kill it in Windows Task Manager. I've attached minidump and log files.

I have the same trouble with a flickering preferences window, only I wasn't able to get the window to the dock. My system configuration is the same. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, version 1709 OS Build 16299.309. (I guess this counts as "Windows Creative"--as a noun, 'creative' is a term of derogation.)

The Black Ink demo runs HOT on my system. Does the full version not have this characteristic? There is a lot that I like about this program.
