[Bug] Black Ink 0.74.1265 : Volute & zoom

Postby scorpus » 21 Aug 2012, 15:21

I use Volute and unzoom : the more I unzoom, the more volutes are transparent.
At the max Unzoom, the draws with Volute disappear.
If I zoom, Volutes go back to regular transparency.

Other pens work correctly, and Volute over other pens work correctly. edit : doesn't work too ;)
Only Volute on blank page goes wrong

System :
XP SP3 - Intel duo 2.33ghz - 2Go RAM
Nvidia 9800GT 1024MB

Hi Scorpus !!!!
Long time no see

You found a really annoying bug that will be fixed someday...
Tehcnically it's because the volute brush is made of several thousand of Ellipse stroke of 1 pixel large ( in Full resolution canvas space ). When I draw all those ellipses in the mip map of the de-zoomed version of your painting our rendering engine handle the opacity with AntiAliasing correctly but during the Alpha blending the GPU lose the precision ( we are in 8bit for now ).
The result is what you see now... you lose the global opacity of your drawing.

Ok now you can say me that it's not you problem and you want a consistent rendering of your picture and I will be agree with you. so i will fixed it as soon as possible :geek:
