Not saving JPG at 300dpi

Postby starflyer » 22 Sep 2016, 12:52

Hi there

When I try to save my picture which is 300dpi in the image size, it comes up at 96dpi in the final jpg.

Is there a way to save the full resolution to jpg? :?

thanks

Don't worry the essential parameter for your image is the resolution in pixel.
You will be able to change the DPI with photoshop ( or any other printing program ) if you have a good resolution.
My advice is to also use the .PNG intead of the .JPG if you want to print your work.

Ah yes, png was much better! thanks

But it still opened as 72 dpi in photoshop initially - so is png able to be force changed to a higher dpi and retail its quality and clarity?

the dpi is only usefull when printing.
Anyway you're right we must update our code to embedded the selected DPI in Black Ink in the exported file.
